Donna Stewart: Founder/Lead Investigator

A native Oregonian - with some time spent in Reno and Las Vegas - Donna Stewart formed the PSI of Oregon team in 2006, along with co-founders Laura Schier and Jessica Foster.

Donna's interest in the paranormal began at the age of 7, after the death of her Grandfather. Not completely understanding the concept of death, it did not seem strange that she saw and spoke with her Grandfather after his passing. Also at the age of 7, she lost her best friend, yet continued to see and speak and play with him for a number of years. As she grew older, the ability to see and speak with spirits diminished, but the spirits have begun to reacquaint themselves with her since her official beginnings in the paranormal field around 1989, and even more so since the formation of her current team, PSI of Oregon. "I do not, by any means, consider myself a psychic or medium," Donna says, "I see things, hear things and feel things that many people don't, but I do believe that everyone has that ability."

PSI of Oregon is quite the family affair for Donna, who works with husband, Rick, sons Christopher and Matthew, daughter, Danielle, and best friend, Laura. Finally finding what Donna describes as "the perfect team", PSI of Oregon has become a family in many ways, often spending time together simply because they enjoy each others company.

When asked what part of the investigation he enjoys most, Donna says, "I love EVP's - recording them, listening to them, analyzing them. It is the most intriguing part of an investigation to me. I am not really technically inclined, so it is safer for everyone if I don't attempt to set up or break down the camera equipment. I am very old school in many ways. I am happy with my voice recorder and digital camera. And I trust my instincts. Instinct, in my opinion, is the best tool a paranormal researcher can have."

When asked what personal experience stands out to her the most, Donna replied, "They are all memorable for me. I can't think of one specific incident that stands out in my memory. I see a lot, hear a lot and feel a lot, even in my own home, so they are all new and exciting to me"

More About Donna

Donna's advice to those new to the paranormal field is to read, listen, and ask questions. "I still read books on the paranormal because no one person is an expert. Read the books by the names you recognize, but also read the books by the hometown teams, because I think we can learn more from those who are out there doing what we do. You don't have to be famous to know the paranormal! And never be afraid to ask questions. We, here at PSI, are always happy to answer what we can, and if we can't find the answer, we will happily direct you to someone who can."

When not working with PSI of Oregon, Donna hosts the popular Blogtalk Radio program, PSI-FI Radio, with friends and fellow paranormal investigators Sharon Kincaid from Southern Atlantic Paranormal and Anna Campbell from Tulare County Paranormala Society. "With all the negativity in the paranormal field, and in social networking in general, I wanted to create something positive. And I think we have accomplished that. We don't have to agree with a guests opinions, but we always respect them, and learn from them!"

When not working with the team, Donna enjoys writing and is working on her first book, enjoys graphic design, studying the Bible and is an Ordained Minister.
