Josh Woods: Team Leader/Tech Specialist
Hailing originally from Bakersfield, California, Josh is going on his second year with PSI of Oregon, and has proven to be one of PSI's most valuable team members; learning every aspect of the investigation - from client interviews to research to the technical aspect to the actual investigation.
Josh didn't have a single defining moment that steered him toward the paranormal, it was something that he has always been interested in learning more about and experiencing firsthand. It wasn't until he saw the abundance of paranormal programs on TV that he realized that there were others with the same interests. This led to Josh forming his first paranormal team - Pacific Oregon Paranormal Society or POPS - with his friend Joe. When Joe left Coos Bay for duty in Iraq, other team members lost interest. But not Josh.
POPS and PSI of Oregon became acquainted on MySpace, which eventually led to Josh and Sarah Andrews (also a POPS member and now a valued PSI of Oregon member) attending PSI of Oregon meetings, and joining the team. Josh is now a Senior Investigator, Technical Assistant, Technical Developement Assistant, and Team Leader.
When asked what part of the investigation he enjoys most, Josh says, "Everything from setting up to the actual investigation to breaking down the equipment. I enjoy experimenting with the camera angles. And breaking down is sort of a relaxing time for us, and we usually use that time to talk with the client, explain the things we do, and offer some advice and education regarding their particular situation...It's a great feeling talking with the client, seeing them relaxed and more calm about the activity in their home, and understanding it a bit more. That alone lets me know we have accomplished something good."
Josh has had numerous personal experiences during his time with PSI of Oregon, but one experience stands out to him. "The team was investigating at a local site that we use for training new team members. I like to stand in one spot and watch movement, and at this location, there is a lot of activity and movement. On one occassion, I was standing and watching and saw a black "V" formation moving quickly toward me. It was fast enough that there really wasn't even time for me to physically react. I felt it go right through me. When I turned to look behind me, there was nothing there, but it left me very, very cold and weak."

More About Josh

Josh's advice to those new to the paranormal field to study. "Read everything you can get your hands on," he says. "Contact a local team and learn from them. Understand the basics - EVP's, types of hauntings, etc. Believe me, you never stop learning in this field!"
When not working with PSI of Oregon, Josh is a mechanic. He enjoys spending time with his friends, most of whom are PSI of Oregon members, cars and motorcycles. And Josh and PSI team member Chris Stewart are founders of a local car club - who is currently seeking a new name!
